Bow tie
A bow tie is a type of neckwear, traditionally worn by men, consisting of a fabric ribbon tied around the collar in a symmetrical manner, so that the two opposite ends form loops, sometimes referred to as "wings". The bow tie is typically made of silk, cotton, linen, or a blend of these materials. It is considered a formal accessory and can be worn with tuxedos, suits, or other formal attire. Bow ties come in various styles, including self-tie (requiring the wearer to tie the bow themselves), pre-tied, and clip-on versions. The bow tie has a long history, evolving from cravats in the 17th century. It is often seen as a symbol of elegance, sophistication, or a distinctive personal style. Notable figures throughout history, from Winston Churchill to Albert Einstein, have frequently sported bow ties, contributing to its enduring appeal. In contemporary fashion, bow ties can also be worn in more casual settings as a fashion statement.
