Bow and Bromley (London County Council constituency)
Bow and Bromley was a territorial electoral area returning councillors to the London County Council (LCC). It comprised the parliamentary constituency of Bow and Bromley in the East End of London.
The constituency was created in 1889 by the Local Government Act 1888, covering the area previously administered by the Metropolitan Board of Works. It returned three councillors.
Significant boundary changes occurred in 1919. A new Mile End constituency was created, and Bow and Bromley was reduced to a two-member constituency. The area covered was adjusted to align with changes to parliamentary constituency boundaries.
Bow and Bromley continued to elect two councillors until the LCC was abolished in 1965. The constituency played a part in the local politics of the East End, with representation fluctuating between Labour, Progressive (later Municipal Reform), and Liberal parties throughout its existence. The results reflected wider political trends within London.
