Bolkov

Bolkov is a town in Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. It is the seat of the administrative district (gmina) called Gmina Bolków.

The town is situated on the Nysa Szalona river, within the Kaczawskie Foothills (part of the Western Sudetes), approximately 15 kilometres (9 mi) west of Jawor and 75 kilometres (47 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław.

Historically, Bolkov is known for its well-preserved medieval castle, Castle Bolków, which dominates the town's skyline and attracts tourists. The castle has been the site of various historical events and sieges throughout its history, reflecting the region's turbulent past.

Economically, Bolkov benefits from tourism related to the castle and surrounding natural landscapes. Agriculture and small-scale industry are also present in the area.
