Bob Lee (businessman)
Bob Lee (born c. 1972, died April 4, 2023) was an American technology executive and entrepreneur. He was best known as the founder and former Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Cash App, a mobile payment service developed by Block, Inc. (formerly Square, Inc.).
Lee played a key role in the development and launch of Cash App, contributing significantly to its widespread adoption. Prior to Cash App, he held positions at Google, where he worked on Android, and was an early employee at Square.
Beyond Cash App, Lee was involved in cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, serving as the Chief Product Officer (CPO) of MobileCoin, a cryptocurrency focused on privacy. He was also an active angel investor and a prominent voice in the San Francisco tech community.
Lee's death in San Francisco in April 2023 garnered significant media attention.
