Bob Cook (ice hockey)

Robert "Bob" Cook (born September 28, 1947) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. He played primarily in the World Hockey Association (WHA) during the 1970s. Cook was a defenseman known for his physical play and defensive capabilities.

Cook's professional career began after playing junior hockey. He was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs, but never played for them. He instead signed with the Los Angeles Sharks of the WHA in 1972. He also played for the Michigan Stags/Baltimore Blades, Phoenix Roadrunners, and Cincinnati Stingers in the WHA. He was often a reliable presence on the blue line, providing stability and a strong physical presence for his teams.

After the WHA merged with the National Hockey League (NHL) in 1979, Cook did not continue his professional hockey career. He retired after playing seven seasons in the WHA.
