Black and White (BoDeans album)
Black and White is the ninth studio album by the American rock band BoDeans, released in 2005. The album marked a significant shift in the band's sound, incorporating more electronic and pop elements than their previous work, a direction attributed to the influence of producer Greg Kurstin. While some long-time fans welcomed the experimentation, others found it a departure from their established roots-rock style. The album's tracks explored themes of love, loss, and reflection, often with a focus on personal relationships. While Black and White didn't achieve the commercial success of some of the BoDeans' earlier albums, it stands as a notable and controversial entry in their discography due to its sonic departure and marked the beginning of a period of further experimentation for the band. Notable songs include "Blowin' My Mind" and "Misery".
