Beerfest

Beerfest is a 2006 American comedy film directed by Jay Chandrasekhar, one of the members of the Broken Lizard comedy troupe. It is the third film from the group, following Puddle Cruiser and Super Troopers.

The film revolves around two American brothers, Jan and Todd Wolfhouse, played by Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske respectively, who travel to Germany during Oktoberfest. While there, they discover a secret, underground beer-drinking competition known as Beerfest. Humiliated after being soundly defeated, they vow to return the following year with a team of their own to win the competition and restore their family's honor.

The brothers assemble a team of eclectic and eccentric beer-drinking champions from the United States, including Barry Badrinath (Jay Chandrasekhar), Landfill (Kevin Heffernan), and Fink (Steve Lemme). They undergo rigorous training to master various beer-related challenges, such as chugging, brewing, and trivia.

The film is characterized by its over-the-top humor, slapstick comedy, and numerous beer-related gags. It features cameos from prominent actors and comedians. Beerfest gained a cult following for its raunchy humor and celebration of beer culture. While not a critical success, it proved popular among audiences and solidified Broken Lizard's reputation for irreverent comedy.
