Barry Foster (American football)
Barry Foster (born November 16, 1968) is a former American football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Carolina Panthers.
Foster played college football at the University of Arkansas. He was drafted by the Steelers in the fifth round of the 1990 NFL Draft.
Foster had a breakout season in 1992, rushing for a then-Steelers single-season record of 1,690 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was named to the Pro Bowl and earned All-Pro honors. He followed this up with another Pro Bowl season in 1993, rushing for 1,005 yards and 7 touchdowns despite missing several games due to injury.
Injuries hampered Foster throughout the remainder of his career. He played for the Carolina Panthers in 1995 before retiring from the NFL.
Following his playing career, Foster has been involved in various business ventures.
