Nathan Smith (footballer, born 1996)

Nathan Smith (born 17 February 1996) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for Port Vale.

Career

Smith began his career at Newcastle Town before joining Port Vale in 2013. He progressed through the club's youth ranks, and in November 2013 he joined Stafford Rangers on loan. He made his debut for Port Vale in May 2015. He signed a new two-year contract with the club in June 2016. Following a brief loan spell at Torquay United, he became a regular in the Port Vale first team. He signed another new contract with Port Vale in February 2018, committing him to the club until 2020. Smith was named Port Vale's Community Player of the Year in 2019 and Supporters' Club Player of the Year in 2022.
