He made his NHL debut with the Avalanche in the same season, appearing in two games.

Davies spent the following two seasons playing primarily in the AHL but received call-ups to the Avalanche, playing in a total of 23 NHL games.

In the 2011-12 season, Davies signed with the New York Rangers as a free agent. He played for their AHL affiliate, the Connecticut Whale, before being called up to the Rangers, where he played in six NHL games.

Following his time with the Rangers organization, Davies continued his professional hockey career in Europe, playing in leagues such as the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) in Germany and the Swiss National League (NL). He retired from professional hockey in 2018.
