Asteropsis (plant)

Asteropsis is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Malvaceae. It is native to Australia. These are typically shrubby plants found in Western Australia.

The genus is characterised by its stellate hairs (hence the name, resembling an "aster" or star), and its dry, indehiscent fruit that does not open to release seeds at maturity. The flowers are typically small and often inconspicuous.
