Tõnu Puu

Tõnu Puu (born 1938) is a Swedish economist, professor emeritus at Umeå University, Sweden. He is known for his work on dynamic economic models, particularly within the areas of business cycle theory, spatial economics, and chaos theory. Puu's research frequently employs mathematical tools, including differential equations and catastrophe theory, to analyze economic phenomena. He has published extensively in leading economic journals and authored several books on economic dynamics and mathematical economics. His work has contributed significantly to understanding complex and nonlinear dynamics in economic systems. He earned his doctorate from Umeå University in 1969. He has also held visiting positions at several universities worldwide.
