Rams (2020 film)

Rams is a 2020 Australian drama film directed by Jeremy Sims, and is an English-language remake of the 2015 Icelandic film of the same name by Grímur Hákonarson. The film stars Sam Neill and Michael Caton as estranged brothers who are sheep farmers in Western Australia.

The plot centers on the brothers, Colin and Les, who live on adjacent farms and raise prized merino sheep. A case of ovine brucellosis is discovered in Les's flock, leading to a government order to cull all sheep in the area. Despite their deep animosity and decades-long feud, Colin and Les are forced to cooperate in an attempt to save some of their flock from the cull and preserve their livelihoods.

The film explores themes of family, brotherhood, stubbornness, and the resilience of rural communities in the face of adversity. It was filmed in Mount Barker and Kojonup in Western Australia.

Rams received generally positive reviews, with praise for the performances of Neill and Caton, as well as the film's sensitive portrayal of rural life and sibling relationships.
