Arabesk (film)

Arabesk is a 1988 Turkish comedy-drama film directed by Ertem Eğilmez and starring Müjde Ar and Kemal Sunal. The film satirizes and parodies the arabesk music genre and the social issues surrounding it in Turkey.

The plot revolves around Şivan, a naive and idealistic folk singer from a small village who dreams of becoming a famous arabesk singer in Istanbul.
