Andy Borg

Andy Borg (born Andreas Karl-Heinz Mayer on November 2, 1960, in Vienna, Austria) is an Austrian Schlager singer and television presenter. He is primarily known for his contributions to the German-language Schlager music scene.

Borg began his music career in the early 1980s. He gained popularity with songs such as "Adios Amor" (1982), which became a major hit and launched his career. He continued to release albums and singles throughout the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, often topping the charts in Austria and Germany.

In addition to his singing career, Borg is also a well-known television personality. He hosted the popular music show "Musikantenstadl" from 2006 to 2015, succeeding Karl Moik. The show featured a mix of Schlager music, folk music, and traditional performances, and was broadcast throughout Europe. His departure from "Musikantenstadl" in 2015 was met with some controversy.

Since 2018, he has hosted the "Schlager-Spaß mit Andy Borg" show on SWR Fernsehen.

Borg's music is characterized by its catchy melodies, sentimental lyrics, and themes of love, longing, and homeland. He has released numerous albums, many of which have achieved gold and platinum status.
