Andrew Hammond (serial killer)
Andrew Hammond (1966-2015) was a Canadian serial killer convicted of murdering three women in Alberta, Canada, between 1992 and 1995.
Hammond, born in Calgary, Alberta, was employed as a truck driver. His victims were all known to him and were targeted in the Edmonton area. He confessed to the murders and provided details to the police that corroborated his involvement.
The victims were:
- Rosemarie Barendregt: Murdered in 1992.
- Lori Ann Braumberger: Murdered in 1995.
- Deborah Anne Miller: Murdered in 1995.
Hammond was arrested in 1995 after Miller's body was discovered. He pleaded guilty to three counts of second-degree murder in 1997 and was sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole for 18 years.
Hammond died in prison in 2015. His motive for the killings was never fully established, though he offered differing explanations to investigators. The case remains a significant one in Canadian criminal history.
