Alien (Alien album)

Alien is the second studio album by the Swedish hard rock band Alien, released in 1988. Following the success of their self-titled debut album, Alien, which spawned the hit single "Only One Woman," the band aimed to solidify their position in the hard rock scene with Alien.

The album features a blend of melodic hard rock and AOR (Album-Oriented Rock) elements. While it retained some of the qualities of their debut, Alien aimed for a slightly heavier and more polished sound. Key tracks on the album include "Tears Don't Put Out the Fire," "Go Easy," and "Ready to Fly."

Alien saw a change in the band's lineup, with guitarist Tony Borg departing and being replaced by Jimi Sjöblom and Conny Stolt. This shift in personnel contributed to the album's altered sound.

Despite the band's efforts, Alien did not achieve the same level of commercial success as their first album. While it was well-received by some fans and critics, it failed to produce a hit single comparable to "Only One Woman." The album's performance led to the band disbanding shortly after its release.

Alien is considered by some fans to be a solid hard rock album, showcasing the band's musicianship and melodic sensibilities. However, it also serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by bands attempting to follow up a successful debut. The album is a part of Alien's discography and represents a chapter in their history before subsequent reunions and releases.
