Nancy Johnson (sport shooter)

Nancy Johnson (born January 14, 1974) is an American sport shooter who specializes in rifle events. She competed in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, where she won a gold medal in the Women's 10m Air Rifle event. This was the first gold medal won by an American athlete at the Sydney Olympics.

Prior to her Olympic success, Johnson competed at the collegiate level, shooting for the University of Kentucky. She was a multiple-time All-American and NCAA champion.

Following her Olympic victory, Johnson continued to compete in national and international shooting competitions. She remains an influential figure in the sport of rifle shooting in the United States. Her contributions have helped to inspire younger generations of shooters.
