Air force

The Air Force is the aerial warfare service branch of a nation's armed forces. It is primarily responsible for air defense, strategic bombing, interdiction, close air support, reconnaissance, and military airlift. Modern air forces often include space operations as well. The size, organization, and equipment of an air force vary significantly depending on national resources, strategic requirements, and geopolitical considerations. Air forces typically employ a wide range of aircraft, including fighter aircraft, bombers, transport aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs or drones). They also maintain extensive ground infrastructure, including airbases, radar stations, and command and control centers. The mission of an air force is generally to achieve and maintain air superiority, project power, and support ground and naval forces. Many air forces also conduct humanitarian aid and disaster relief operations.
