Ahuntsic-Cartierville (electoral district)
Ahuntsic-Cartierville is a federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada. It has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 2004.
The riding is located in the northern part of the Island of Montreal, encompassing the borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville. It is bordered by the Rivière des Prairies to the north, the borough of Montréal-Nord to the east, the borough of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension to the south, and the boroughs of Saint-Laurent and Pierrefonds-Roxboro to the west.
The riding's population is diverse, with significant linguistic and cultural communities. The area has a mix of residential, commercial, and industrial areas.
Historically, Ahuntsic-Cartierville has been a stronghold for the Liberal Party of Canada. However, other parties, such as the Bloc Québécois and the New Democratic Party, have also garnered support in the riding.
The electoral district was created in 2003 from parts of the former ridings of Ahuntsic, Cartierville—Pierrefonds, and Saint-Denis. The name Ahuntsic-Cartierville combines the names of two prominent neighbourhoods within the borough.
