Aberdonia (yacht)
Aberdonia was a Scottish racing yacht built in 1894 by William Fife Jr. of Fairlie. She was commissioned by J.G. Thomson, a member of the Royal Clyde Yacht Club. Aberdonia was designed and built to the "linear rating rule" which was prevalent at the time, influencing her overall design characteristics. She was known for her speed and success in racing on the Clyde and other British waters. Aberdonia's design is considered a notable example of late 19th-century yacht design, showcasing Fife's skill in combining speed and seaworthiness. Information about the yacht's later history and eventual fate is scarce, although records of her racing career in the late 1890s are documented in various yachting publications of the time.
