7th Air Division (Japan)

The 7th Air Division (7th AD) was a numbered air force of the United States Air Force, stationed in Japan. It was a component of Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) and acted as the primary Air Force command and control organization in Japan.

The 7th Air Division was responsible for the operational readiness of assigned air units in Japan and coordinated air operations with the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF). It played a crucial role in maintaining regional security and stability, and in strengthening the alliance between the United States and Japan.

The Division oversaw various Air Force installations in Japan, including but not limited to, Misawa Air Base, Yokota Air Base, and Kadena Air Base (indirectly through subordinate units). It supported a wide range of missions, including air defense, airlift, intelligence, and combat support.

The 7th Air Division has been inactivated/redesignated. Historical information should be checked for the most accurate details on its specific period of activity.
