3 Ninjas (film)
3 Ninjas is a 1992 American martial arts comedy film directed by Jon Turteltaub. The film stars Victor Wong, Michael Treanor, Max Elliott Slade, and Chad Power as three young brothers who spend their summer vacations training in ninjutsu with their Japanese grandfather.
The story follows the three brothers, Samuel, Jeffrey, and Michael Douglas, as they visit their grandfather, Mori Tanaka, also known as Grandpa Mori, for their annual summer training. Grandpa Mori is a skilled ninja master who teaches them martial arts and important life lessons. Simultaneously, the boys' biological father, FBI agent Sam Douglas, is working to take down a notorious arms dealer named Hugo Snyder, who was a former student of Mori. Snyder hires a group of ninjas to eliminate Sam Douglas and Mori Tanaka. When Snyder's ninjas attack Grandpa Mori's cabin, the three young brothers must use their ninja skills to defend themselves and their grandfather.
The film combines martial arts action with comedic elements, appealing to a family audience. It spawned several sequels, including 3 Ninjas Kick Back (1994), 3 Ninjas Knuckle Up (1995), and 3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain (1998), although the original cast did not return for all sequels. 3 Ninjas was a commercial success, contributing to the popularity of martial arts films among young audiences in the 1990s.
