2014 Kabaddi World Cup (circle style)
The 2014 Kabaddi World Cup (circle style) was the fourth edition of the Kabaddi World Cup using the circle style format. It was held in Punjab, India, from November 30 to December 14, 2014. Ten men's teams and eight women's teams participated in the tournament. This competition followed the circle style of kabaddi, which is distinct from the standard style governed by the International Kabaddi Federation (IKF). In circle style, the playing area is circular, and the rules differ somewhat from those used in the IKF-governed standard style.
India won the men's tournament, defeating Pakistan in the final. This marked India's fourth consecutive title in the circle style Kabaddi World Cup. In the women's tournament, India also emerged victorious, defeating England in the final. The event was organized with the support of the Punjab state government and aimed to promote kabaddi at the international level using the circle style format. Participation included teams from various countries, primarily those with strong traditions of circle-style kabaddi. The event showcased the athleticism and skill involved in the game and highlighted the cultural significance of Kabaddi in the region.
