Carlinhos (footballer, born 1956)
Carlinhos, whose full name is Carlos Alberto de Jesus, (born September 14, 1956) is a former Brazilian football (soccer) player. A midfielder known for his playmaking ability and passing range, Carlinhos played for several prominent Brazilian clubs throughout his career, including Flamengo and Internacional.
His career peaked in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He was a key member of the Flamengo squad that achieved significant success during that period, winning multiple Campeonato Carioca (Rio de Janeiro State Championship) titles and the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A national championship in 1980. He also played in the Copa Libertadores for Flamengo.
While he was considered a talented player, Carlinhos did not achieve the same level of international recognition as some of his contemporaries. He was not a regular member of the Brazilian national team, although he did receive call-ups and played in friendly matches. After retiring from professional football, Carlinhos remained involved in the sport, often working as a coach or commentator.
