2010 FIFA World Cup qualification (OFC)
The 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification process in the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) determined which nation from Oceania would advance to the 2010 FIFA World Cup held in South Africa. The OFC was allocated a single half spot, meaning the winner of the OFC qualification tournament would advance to a play-off against the fifth-placed team from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for a chance to qualify for the World Cup finals.
The qualification process consisted of three rounds. The first round involved a round-robin tournament between the four lowest-ranked OFC nations. The winner of this round advanced to the second round, joining the remaining OFC nations. The second round comprised of a single round-robin tournament played within the 2007 South Pacific Games football tournament. The top three teams from the South Pacific Games advanced to the third round.
The third round consisted of a home-and-away series played by the three remaining teams. The winner of this round became the OFC champion and advanced to the inter-confederation play-off against the fifth-placed team from the AFC.
New Zealand ultimately won the OFC qualification tournament. In the inter-confederation play-off, New Zealand defeated Bahrain, securing their place in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
