Prima Vera (band)
Prima Vera was a Norwegian comedy trio and musical group, active from 1976 to 1999, known for their absurd humor, parodies, and catchy, often nonsensical songs. The group consisted of Jahn Teigen, Herodes Falsk, and Tom Mathisen.
Prima Vera achieved significant popularity in Norway throughout the 1970s and 1980s, releasing a string of successful albums and touring extensively. Their music combined elements of rock and roll, pop, and traditional Norwegian folk music, often incorporating humorous lyrics and skits into their live performances.
Their albums, such as Prima Vera (1977), Brakara (1978), and Fisle Narrepanne i Tyrol (1981), became cultural landmarks in Norway, influencing subsequent generations of Norwegian comedians and musicians. Their songs often featured satirical takes on Norwegian society, popular culture, and everyday life.
While the group disbanded in 1999, their music continues to be popular in Norway, and their legacy as one of the country's most influential comedy acts remains strong. Jahn Teigen continued a successful solo career after Prima Vera, representing Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest multiple times. Herodes Falsk pursued a career in acting, writing, and comedy, while Tom Mathisen continued to work as a musician and composer.
