2006 FIFA World Cup qualification (CAF)
The 2006 FIFA World Cup qualification process for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) determined the five African nations that would participate in the 2006 FIFA World Cup held in Germany. The qualification process consisted of three rounds.
The first round involved the lowest-ranked African teams playing in a knockout format to reduce the number of teams. The winners of these ties advanced to the second round.
The second round comprised a group stage. The remaining teams were divided into five groups of six teams each. Teams played each other home and away within their respective groups.
The five group winners from the second round automatically qualified for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. This made the second round function as both World Cup qualification and qualification for the 2006 African Cup of Nations.
The qualified teams from CAF were: Angola, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, and Tunisia.
