Alan Reid (cricketer)
Alan Reid (born 10 January 1955) is a former English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and right-arm medium-pace bowler who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire between 1974 and 1979.
Reid made his debut for Derbyshire in a List A match against Hampshire in May 1974. His first-class debut came later that month against Yorkshire. He played regularly for Derbyshire over the next few seasons, primarily as a lower-order batsman and change bowler. His best batting performance was an innings of 67 against Essex in 1976. He took a career-best 5 wickets for 31 runs against Oxford University in 1977.
Reid left Derbyshire after the 1979 season. In total, he played 53 first-class matches for the county, scoring 738 runs and taking 42 wickets. He also played 42 List A matches, scoring 169 runs and taking 13 wickets. Following his departure from first-class cricket, he continued to play at club level.
