2004 European Open (snooker)
The 2004 European Open was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place from February 15 to 22, 2004, at the Portomaso Casino in St. Julian's, Malta. It was the seventh ranking event of the 2003/2004 snooker season.
Stephen Maguire won the tournament, defeating Jimmy White 9–3 in the final. This was Maguire's first ranking title.
The tournament featured a 32-player main draw, with qualifiers competing to join the top 16 seeds. The highest break of the tournament was a 147 break made by Stephen Maguire.
The event was sponsored by Rothmans. This marked one of the last snooker events to be sponsored by a tobacco company before restrictions on tobacco advertising became more widespread.
The prize fund for the tournament was £233,500, with the winner receiving £35,000.
