Žarko Paspalj
Žarko Paspalj (Serbian Cyrillic: Жарко Паспаљ; born April 13, 1966) is a retired Serbian professional basketball player. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest European players of his generation.
Paspalj played as a small forward and was known for his scoring ability and all-around game. He enjoyed a successful club career, playing for Partizan Belgrade, San Antonio Spurs (NBA), Olympiacos Piraeus, Panathinaikos Athens, Paris Basket Racing, Aris Thessaloniki, and Virtus Bologna, among others.
Paspalj also had a distinguished career representing Yugoslavia (later Serbia and Montenegro) in international competitions. He won several medals, including a silver medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, a gold medal at the 1989 EuroBasket, a gold medal at the 1991 EuroBasket, a gold medal at the 1995 EuroBasket, and a gold medal at the 1990 FIBA World Championship.
Following his playing career, Paspalj has been involved in various roles within basketball, including management and player representation. He remains a respected figure in Serbian and European basketball.
