Zac Jones
Zac Jones is a professional ice hockey defenseman currently playing for the New York Rangers organization in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted by the Rangers in the third round, 68th overall, of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
Born and raised in Glen Allen, Virginia, Jones played junior hockey in the United States Hockey League (USHL) for the Tri-City Storm. He then played college hockey for the University of Massachusetts Amherst Minutemen, where he won a national championship in 2021.
Known for his offensive skill set and skating ability, Jones is a left-handed shot who typically plays on the left side of the defense. He has represented the United States in international competitions, including the IIHF World Junior Championship. As a developing defenseman, Jones is working on improving his defensive game and physical strength to establish himself as a consistent NHL player. His NHL debut came during the 2020-2021 season.
