Yamaha MO
The Yamaha MO series is a line of music production synthesizers and workstations produced by Yamaha Corporation. Introduced in 2005, the MO series served as a more affordable alternative to Yamaha's flagship Motif series.
The MO series, comprising models such as the MO6 and MO8, offered a wide array of sounds, effects, and sequencing capabilities suitable for composing, arranging, and performing music. Key features typically included a built-in sound engine with a large selection of instrument voices, a sequencer for recording and editing musical patterns, and effects processors for adding depth and character to sounds. The workstations often had a keyboard for playing and inputting musical data.
Compared to the Motif series, the MO series generally featured a more streamlined feature set and fewer expansion options, making it a more budget-friendly option for musicians and producers. Despite these differences, the MO series retained many of the core functionalities and sound quality that made the Motif series popular. The Yamaha MO series helped bridge the gap between professional-grade workstations and more accessible price points.
