X Factor (German TV series)

X Factor is a German reality television singing competition franchise based on the original UK show created by Simon Cowell. The series aims to find new singing talent – solo artists or groups – drawn from public auditions. Contestants are selected in stages, judged primarily on their singing ability, personality, stage presence, and overall potential.

The format typically involves open auditions, followed by a "bootcamp" phase where the number of contestants is significantly reduced. Subsequently, the remaining acts are divided into categories (e.g., male soloists, female soloists, groups, over 25s, or similar age/gender delineations) each mentored by one of the celebrity judges. The judges provide guidance and support to their assigned category throughout the competition.
