Willdenowia (journal)

Willdenowia is a peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to publishing original research in plant taxonomy, floristics, and plant geography. It is published by the Botanic Garden and Botanical Museum Berlin (BGBM), part of the Freie Universität Berlin.

The journal primarily focuses on the flora of the Old World, especially Europe, the Mediterranean region, and Africa. Willdenowia accepts submissions of articles in English or German. The scope of the journal includes systematic revisions, taxonomic monographs, floristic accounts, and studies of plant distribution and ecology.

Willdenowia is named in honor of Carl Ludwig Willdenow (1765–1812), a German botanist and pharmacist, and former director of the Berlin Botanical Garden. The journal has been published since 1953.
