Johnson attended Grosse Pointe South High School in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, where he excelled as a two-way player, contributing as both a wide receiver and cornerback. He was a highly-rated recruit, earning five-star status from several recruiting services. He was named Michigan's Division 1 Player of the Year as a senior.

College Career

Johnson committed to the University of Michigan and joined the Wolverines in 2022.
