Wancho (Unicode block)
The Wancho Unicode block is a range of code points allocated in the Unicode standard to represent the Wancho script. The Wancho script is an abugida used for writing the Wancho language, spoken primarily in Arunachal Pradesh, India, and bordering areas of Myanmar. The block contains the characters necessary for representing the Wancho alphabet, including consonants, vowels, and other symbols required for writing the language. It was added to the Unicode Standard in June 2017 with the release of version 10.0. This addition allows for the digital representation and processing of Wancho text on computers and other devices, promoting literacy and preservation of the language. The block's inclusion ensures that Wancho can be used in digital documents, websites, and software applications.
The range of code points allocated to the Wancho block is U+1E2C0 to U+1E2FF.
