Vicdessos was situated in the Pyrenees mountains, in the Vicdessos valley, through which the Vicdessos river flows. The valley is known for its scenic beauty and opportunities for outdoor activities.

History:

Like many rural areas in France, Vicdessos experienced shifts in population and economic activity over the centuries. Prior to the merger, Vicdessos was an independent commune with its own mayor and local government.
