Varedo
Varedo is a town and comune (municipality) in the Province of Monza and Brianza in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 15 kilometres (9 miles) north of Milan.
Varedo is situated in the Pianura Padana (Po Valley). It borders the comuni of Paderno Dugnano, Limbiate, Nova Milanese, Desio, and Bovisio Masciago.
The economy of Varedo is primarily based on industry and artisan activities. It also experiences influence from its proximity to Milan.
Historically, the territory was inhabited since Roman times. The name "Varedo" is believed to derive from the Lombard word "Warida", meaning "watchtower" or "guard post".
