Vao (island)

Vao is a small island located off the coast of the larger island of Malekula in Vanuatu. It is part of the Malampa Province. Vao is known for its traditional culture, particularly its unique dances and ceremonies.

The island is relatively flat and heavily vegetated. Its population is small, primarily Melanesian, and they speak the Vao language, which is related to other languages spoken on Malekula.
