Tim Louis (British Columbia politician)
Tim Louis is a Canadian lawyer and politician in British Columbia. He is known for his advocacy for people with disabilities and his socialist political views.
Louis served as a Vancouver City Councillor for the Coalition of Progressive Electors (COPE) from 1999 to 2002, and again from 2018 to 2022. During his time on council, he championed issues such as affordable housing, tenants' rights, and increased accessibility for people with disabilities.
He is a founding member of the Disability Alliance BC (formerly the BC Coalition of People with Disabilities) and has been actively involved in disability rights advocacy for many years.
As a lawyer, Louis has focused on representing injured workers, tenants, and people with disabilities in legal proceedings. He is a vocal critic of neoliberal economic policies and their impact on vulnerable populations.
He unsuccessfully ran for Member of Parliament in the 2015 and 2019 federal elections for the New Democratic Party (NDP) in the riding of Vancouver Granville.
