Tien Peng
Tien Peng (Chinese: 田鵬; pinyin: Tián Péng) is a Taiwanese actor, director, and martial artist best known for his work in Shaw Brothers Studio films during the 1970s and 1980s. He frequently appeared in wuxia and kung fu movies, often portraying heroic or villainous swordsmen. He also directed several films, further contributing to the martial arts film genre.
Tien Peng's career began in Taiwan before he joined Shaw Brothers. He gained prominence through his roles in films such as The Wandering Swordsman, The Black Tavern, and numerous other martial arts productions that were popular throughout Asia. While not always the leading man, his distinctive appearance and martial arts skills made him a recognizable and memorable figure in Hong Kong cinema of the era. He worked alongside many of the most famous stars of the time, including David Chiang, Ti Lung, and Chen Kuan-Tai.
After his time with Shaw Brothers, Tien Peng continued to act and direct in various Taiwanese and Hong Kong film productions. He remains a notable figure in the history of martial arts cinema.
