Tiberius Claudius Nero (consul 202 BC)
Tiberius Claudius Nero was a Roman politician and military figure who served as consul in 202 BC during the Second Punic War. He belonged to the patrician Claudia gens, one of the oldest and most influential families in Rome.
As consul, he was assigned to Africa, where he was intended to support Scipio Africanus in the final stages of the war against Hannibal. However, historical sources suggest that he played a relatively minor role in the decisive Battle of Zama, which ultimately led to Hannibal's defeat and the end of the war. After the conclusion of the war, he returned to Rome, and little is definitively known about his subsequent career. His significance primarily lies in his participation in the closing phase of the Second Punic War and his membership in a prominent Roman family.
