The Only Game in Town (1979 film)

The Only Game in Town is a 1979 American romantic comedy-drama film directed by George Stevens, in his final film. It stars Elizabeth Taylor and Warren Beatty. The screenplay, written by Frank D. Gilroy, is based on his 1968 play of the same name.

The film tells the story of Fran Walker (Taylor), a Las Vegas showgirl, and Joe Grady (Beatty), a gambler and piano player. Both are struggling financially and romantically, essentially trapped in Las Vegas and with each other. Their lives become intertwined as they pursue a relationship amidst their personal struggles and the limited opportunities available to them in the "only game in town" - Las Vegas.
