The Glee Club (band)

The Glee Club was a British pop band formed in London in 1983. The band, known for its upbeat, melodic sound and harmonies, gained modest popularity in the mid-1980s with singles that charted primarily in the UK. Key members included vocalist and songwriter Neil Harrison, and backing vocalists/instrumentalists whose identities have varied depending on the source, but often included female singers to create their signature sound.

The band's music often fell under the genres of sophisti-pop and indie pop, with influences from new wave and soul. While not achieving major mainstream success, The Glee Club developed a cult following, particularly among fans of 1980s British pop. Their discography consists primarily of singles and EPs released on independent labels. They are not to be confused with the American musical television series Glee, or traditional collegiate glee clubs. Their output is relatively limited, making their recordings sought after by collectors. Detailed discographical information can be difficult to ascertain, as much of their work was produced on smaller, less well-documented labels.
