Spencer Jones (crater)
Spencer Jones is a small lunar impact crater that lies within the Mare Smythii, near the eastern limb of the Moon. It is located to the west-southwest of the crater Runge, and north-northeast of Kao.
This is a relatively unremarkable, bowl-shaped crater with a slightly raised rim. The interior slopes down to a small floor that occupies about half the crater diameter. No significant features lie within the crater or on its rim. It is a typical simple crater in appearance.
The crater is named after British astronomer Sir Harold Spencer Jones.
