Sutherland, Ross and Cromarty (Commonwealth Parliament constituency)

Sutherland, Ross and Cromarty was a constituency of the Parliament of the Commonwealth of England, Scotland, and Ireland, also known as the Protectorate Parliament, from 1654 to 1659. It elected one Member of Parliament. It was created as a result of the Instrument of Government, which dictated parliamentary representation across the three kingdoms following the end of the English Civil War. The constituency covered the counties of Sutherland, Ross, and Cromarty in the Scottish Highlands. These counties were not coterminous with their present-day forms. Following the Restoration of the monarchy in 1660, representation reverted to the pre-Civil War model, and the constituency was abolished.
