Stuart Byrne (footballer)

Stuart Byrne (born 14 November 1976) is an Irish former professional footballer.

Byrne played as a midfielder. He is best known for his time playing in the League of Ireland Premier Division, where he represented several clubs including Shelbourne, Sporting Fingal, and Dundalk. He also played for clubs such as Bray Wanderers and St. Patrick's Athletic.

Byrne began his League of Ireland career with Bray Wanderers. He later enjoyed considerable success with Shelbourne under manager Pat Fenlon, winning league titles in 2003, 2004, and 2006.

After leaving Shelbourne, Byrne went on to play for Sporting Fingal, helping them win the FAI Cup in 2009. He also had spells with Dundalk and St. Patrick's Athletic before retiring from professional football.

Following his playing career, Byrne has worked as a football pundit and commentator for various media outlets in Ireland.
