Straight Ahead (Stanley Turrentine album)

Straight Ahead is a 1961 jazz album by tenor saxophonist Stanley Turrentine. It was recorded on September 16, 1961, and released by Blue Note Records as BLP 4039. The album features Turrentine with an ensemble including tenor saxophonist Bennie Green, trumpeter Blue Mitchell, pianist Horace Parlan, bassist Tommy Bryant, and drummer Al Harewood. Straight Ahead is considered a strong example of hard bop and soul jazz, showcasing Turrentine's distinctive blues-tinged and soulful playing style.
