Transpecos (film)

Transpecos is a 2016 American thriller film directed by Greg Kwedar and written by Greg Kwedar and Clint Bentley. The film stars Clifton Collins Jr., Johnny Simmons, and Gabriel Luna.

The plot follows two U.S. Border Patrol agents, Flores (Simmons) and Hobbs (Luna), working a remote checkpoint in the West Texas desert (Trans-Pecos region). During a routine traffic stop, they discover incriminating evidence that implicates one of them in a cartel conspiracy. Their supervisor, Agent Ramirez (Collins Jr.), attempts to guide them through the situation, but things quickly escalate, testing the agents' loyalty and morality as they navigate a dangerous and complex situation.

Transpecos premiered at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival in March 2016, where it won the Audience Award. The film received generally positive reviews, with critics praising its suspenseful narrative, performances, and depiction of life along the U.S.-Mexico border.
